Funerals

Funerals are a very important way of marking the close of a human life on earth. They are an opportunity for friends & family to express their grief, to reflect on the life of the deceased, to give thanks for them & to commend them to God's keeping. We understand that when someone close to you has just died, arranging a funeral may not feel the easiest thing to do.

We are here to help.

How we can help

The initial arrangements for funerals are typically made through your chosen undertaker, but our clergy & ministers work closely with both you & them to help you plan the pattern of service you want, whether in a church, a crematorium or burial.

You may also find it beneficial to visit the Church of England website, which has some helpful guidance on all that surrounds the planning of a funeral - click here to visit their website.

Whilst St John's Churchyard on Rugeley Road is now full, & therefore has no new grave or ashes plots, it is usually possible to re-open existing family plots.

If you have any questions, or would like more information on funerals, burials of cremated remains, or memorial services, do please get in touch with the Church Office. We'll do all we can to help you during this difficult time.
